Self-hosted cron
Replace hosted cron with a scheduler you run yourself
Hosted cron products charge rent to fire HTTP on a timer. NexusCron is the same job as source you run on your own machines.

If the only reason you keep EasyCron, cron-job.org, or a cloud scheduler is “hit this URL every five minutes,” you are paying a subscription for a crontab line. The vendor stores the schedule, the secrets, and the logs. When the plan changes, the jobs still belong to them.
Three ways teams run the same HTTP ping
- 01
System crontab
Free and local. Fine until you need a UI, retries you can see, or a teammate who does not SSH.
- 02
Hosted cron SaaS
EasyCron, cron-job.org, and similar products. Fast to start, then you pay every month and the run history lives in someone else’s account.
- 03
NexusCron on your box
Cron expressions, delayed jobs, and HTTP triggers with a Tailwind dashboard. SQLite on disk. Docker Compose for local and VPS.
What you actually get
- 01
Production-ready Python / FastAPI / SQLModel source, not a tutorial dump.
- 02
Cron expressions, delayed jobs, and HTTP endpoint triggers.
- 03
Local execution logs: status codes, response times, payloads.
- 04
Dashboard for job CRUD and run history.
- 05
Docker Compose for local and VPS. Same image.
- 06
Docs that go from clone to first job without an onboarding call.
Deploy is one compose file
There is no vendor API and no data leaving your network. Job tables, secrets, and logs stay on disk you control. Pay once on Whop, clone the repo, run compose up. The scheduler is live on the machine you already pay for.
git clone <your NexusCron source> docker compose up -d
NexusCron

$94.99one-time, lifetime license
- Full source on your machines
- Cron, delayed jobs, HTTP triggers

Questions people ask before they switch
Is this just crontab with a nicer page?
Crontab still works. NexusCron adds a dashboard, HTTP triggers, delayed jobs, and local run history so you are not grepping syslog every time a ping fails.
Do I need Kubernetes?
No. Docker Compose is enough for a VPS, a home lab, or a single app server. Same image locally and in production.
What happens after I pay?
You get the source on Whop. Clone it, run compose up, create the first job. There is no hosted account and no usage meter.
Can it hit HTTPS endpoints the way EasyCron does?
Yes. Cron expressions and HTTP endpoint triggers are the core job. Logs keep status codes, response times, and payloads on disk you control.
