Self-hosted pipelines

Run background jobs on an engine you host yourself

Hosted worker products charge rent to run a job you already know how to write. NexusPipeline is that engine as source, on Docker, on your machines.

NexusPipeline execution engine on a developer workstation

Most “background job” SaaS is a queue, a runner, and a dashboard you do not own. The useful work is almost always: accept a payload, run a step, write the result. You do not need a monthly execution platform for that if you already ship FastAPI.

What the engine does

  1. 01

    Accept

Take work from a webhook, a cron ping, or an API you call. The job lives on your host.

  2. 02

    Execute

FastAPI, SQLModel, and SQLite. Steps run next to the code instead of in a vendor worker.

  3. 03

    Record

Status codes, timings, and payloads stay on disk you control. No tenant inbox between hops.

When a hosted worker is the wrong default

Keep the hosted runner

You need a multi-region control plane, or non-engineers own every workflow in a visual builder.

Run NexusPipeline

You already ship code, the jobs are sensitive, and you do not want execution history sitting in another tenant.

Pair it with self-hosted cron when work starts on a timer, or Webhook Router when it starts as an event. The NexusPipeline product page has the license.

Setup is one compose file

Pay once on Whop, download the source, clone it onto the box you already run. There is no vendor API and no data leaving your network. Job tables and logs stay on disk you control.

git clone <your NexusPipeline source>
docker compose up -d
  1. 01

Open the dashboard on the host port in the compose file.

  2. 02

Create the first pipeline and point it at an HTTP endpoint you own.

  3. 03

Trigger a run from cron, a webhook, or the API. Read the log on disk.

Questions people ask before they switch

Is this a Celery or Temporal replacement?

For a single-node FastAPI worker with SQLite and Docker, yes. If you need a multi-cluster orchestration platform with a hosted control plane, keep Temporal. NexusPipeline is for teams who want the engine on a VPS they already pay for.

What does a job actually run?

HTTP callbacks, scripted steps, and background work you define. Status, timing, and payloads land in local logs instead of a vendor console.

Do I need Kubernetes?

No. Docker Compose is enough for local and a VPS. Same image in both places.

Does it replace NexusCron or Webhook Router?

No. Cron is the timer. Webhook Router is the inbound pipe. NexusPipeline is the execution engine those two can hand work to.
